Summer Lecture Series

Forming the Leaders of Tomorrow

Once the interns begin their internships at their assigned companies, one might think that that is the end of their formation…Nope!

The program is not done developing them yet!

In the month of July, on each Monday night, the C-Legs summer internship program sponsors a featured speaker who talks to all of the interns. These summer keynote events are hosted at different businesses involved in the internship program.

The featured speaker discusses any number of topics that are relevant to the interns current responsibilities or this pivotal time in their lives. Some of these topics include faithful citizenship, faith in the workplace, male/female relationships in the workplace, working with your peers, and ethics in the workplace. Each speaker is  a man or woman of distinction in the community and who is successful in their personal and professional lives.

The schedule of events for what we call the “Summer Series” is as follows:

  • 6:30 – 7:00 pm: dinner/social time and introduction by the host business
  • 7:00 – 8:00 pm: talk by the featured speaker
  • 8:00 – 8:30 pm: Q&A with the featured speaker
  • 8:30 – 9:00 pm: discuss workplace case studies
  • 9:00 pm: head home

A fringe benefit for the sponsoring business who hosts this event is that they have the opportunity to present their business to all of the assembled interns. This gives the host business a chance to throw the net wide and possibly attract interns to their business when they graduate college. So in addition to the one or two interns who work for the company, they get exposure to a larger group of highly qualified young men and women who might be interested in working for them in the near future.
