Forming the Leaders of Tomorrow

Service Day

Summer 2023 Service Day at Pregnancy Aid Clinic, Roswell. The interns met for Holy Mass then worked the rest of the morning planting flowers, pruning, and spreading pine straw. Afterwards, we enjoyed lunch together at Moxie Burger. “Always Give Back!” was one of our themes for the summer.

Silent Retreat

The C-Legs Summer college internship program goes beyond professional preparation, emphasizing holistic development. As part of our commitment, we organize a silent spiritual weekend retreat in mid-December for interns, facilitated by a Catholic priest or consecrated woman. This retreat includes reflections, meditations, prayer, and spiritual practices, guiding students to create a “Program of Life.” This program reflects internal discernment, addressing obstacles to a holier life and outlining steps for the coming year aligned with God’s will. Notably, the retreats are open to all, regardless of religious affiliation. Many interns consider these silent retreats the highlight of their C-Legs experience.

Convention

To keep our interns well-rounded, we offer a unique summer convention as a break from work. Unlike typical professional gatherings, our conventions take place at a mountain house or similar venues over a four-day weekend (Thursday to Sunday). The schedule includes a mix of spiritual, human, social, and intellectual activities, ranging from sports and outdoor recreation to interactive faith group discussions and daily Holy Mass. This event, balancing intensity and relaxation, stands out as a holistic experience in the C-Legs summer internship program, integrating the human, intellectual, religious, and professional dimensions of our interns’ lives.

Summer Series

Once interns begin their assignments, the C-Legs summer internship program continues their development. Throughout July, every Monday night, the program organizes the “Summer Series” featuring distinguished speakers at various participating businesses. Covering topics like faithful citizenship, workplace ethics, and professional relationships, each speaker is a successful figure in the community. The event starts at 6:30 pm and includes dinner and social time, presentation from the featured speaker, Q&A, and a workplace case study discussion. Hosting businesses gain the added benefit of presenting their company to a broader pool of interns, potentially attracting future talent beyond those directly employed.

Volunteer Day

The C-Legs summer internship program emphasizes not only professional development but also a commitment to community service. At the core of this philosophy is an annual mandatory event held in early June, where all interns come together to volunteer for humanitarian causes.

During this event, interns engage in various impactful activities. Past projects have included building a Habitat for Humanity house, cleaning the grounds of a Benedictine monastery in Conyers, Georgia, serving meals at a local soup kitchen for the needy, and organizing a field day for elderly citizens.
